Lifestart and Family Advocacy are presenting an information session for parents and carers exploring the lifelong benefits of, and strategies to achieve, an inclusive education for children with a disability.

What we will cover:

• choosing a school
• the transition to school
• possible supports at school (emphasis on the NSW state system)
• your relationship with the school
• research about the benefits of mainstream education.

The presenter

Karen Tippett is the Advocacy and Leadership Development Manager at Family Advocacy. The Advocacy and Leadership Development team supports the enhancement of families’ knowledge and skills to enable them to effectively advocate for a life of meaningful community inclusion for their family member with a disability. Karen manages the team and has 10 years’ experience empowering families through various roles within Family Advocacy.
