Who is Lifestart?
Unlike most NDIS providers, we’ve been around long before the NDIS scheme began, and rather than being created to capitalise on government support schemes, we were started by families – for families – who believed the support systems could offer more. Twenty-nine years ago, eight families united and used a small amount of funding to run a program in a single classroom in Turramurra Public School. From these humble beginnings, Lifestart now operates out of eleven locations and supports over 10,000 children and young people, as well as their families, across Australia. It’s a success we’re proud of because it is a success built on lived experience and a genuine desire to change lives for the better.
Our purpose remains the same – to support children and young people living with a disability, as well as their families and communities, to reach their full potential. We do this by creating tailored support programs that recognise the uniqueness and strengths of each child. This support is delivered by our passionate Allied Health Professionals, including Speech Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Psychologists, Behaviour Support Practitioners and more.
We believe every child has the right to be fully included in their communities, and with the right supports in place, can do so and lead the lives they deserve.
