The Early Childhood Approach is for children aged 0 to 9 years with disability, or children aged 0 to 6 years with developmental delay (including developmental concerns) and their families and carers.
Are you looking to get an NDIS plan for your child aged under 9 years? Lifestart is an Early Childhood Partner, delivering the NDIS Early Childhood Approach. Early Childhood Partners have teams of professionals with experience and clinical expertise in working with young children with developmental delay or disability and their families. They have specialist skills in early childhood intervention and focus on delivering family-centred supports using a best-practice model.
Your Early Childhood Partner can:
- connect you to local services such as child health services, playgroups, childcare, parent support groups, education options and recreation
- give you practical information about child development
- use observations and information from yourself, screening tools, assessments or reports to understand the impact of your child’s delay or disability (but they don’t complete assessments for diagnosis)
- where appropriate provide a short period of early supports to help you and your child to work towards goals
- help you to apply to the NDIS if that is the right support for your child
- help you connect with best practice early childhood intervention services
- monitor your child’s progress and support them to transition from the early childhood approach.
Where is Lifestart an Early Childhood Partner?

Contact us
If you do not have an NDIS plan, the easiest way to have someone get in touch with you about getting support through the NDIS Early Childhood Approach is to lodge your referral using our web intake form. Our Customer Experience Team can be contacted on 1800 953 390 with the option to leave a voicemail. However, due to demand on our phone systems, we would advise lodging a referral by using the web intake form, as this is the quickest way to get you started. The form will provide important initial information that will allow our team to commence intake.
If your child has an NDIS plan and you have already been allocated an Early Childhood Coordinator, you should contact the Coordinator directly. The contact details would have been provided to you in your initial correspondence.
If you are currently on a wait list, please directly contact the person you have been in correspondence with.
