Our first-ever Lifestart Community Picnic was a huge success! Over 200 people gathered at Ashfield Park to enjoy a fun-filled day packed with activities, laughter, and community spirit.
Families and children had a blast with a petting zoo, jumping castle, face painting, and fairy floss, while the highlight of the day was an entertaining concert by some incredibly talented Lifestart kids and young people—showcasing their singing, dancing, and drumming skills!
Our dedicated Lifestart team, including Speech Pathologists and Occupational Therapists, were there to offer support, ensuring an inclusive and welcoming experience for all. We also provided a quiet sensory space for children and young people who needed a break from the excitement.
Parents and carers shared how much they appreciated the chance to connect, relax, and enjoy a fully inclusive, family-friendly event. Thoughtful planning—such as spacing out entertainment to reduce noise and crowds—created a calm and enjoyable atmosphere for everyone.
A special thank you to the Inner West Council for their generous grant and to the Ashfield Bowling Club for keeping everyone fed with a delicious sausage sizzle!
We can’t wait to bring the Lifestart Community Picnic to more neighbourhoods—stay tuned for one near you!
