Today we celebrate International Day of People with Disability.
Inclusion comes in many different forms. This year, Lifestart team members explored them by trying different tools and strategies like assistive listening, Auslan, Braille, information signs and tactile indicators. Using a chatterbox, we looked at different options for communicating and making spaces more inclusive.
Here is what the team members at Lifestart had to say:
“People don’t communicate in one way. They can use a multitude of tools and resources to get through life.”
“We love hearing about hearing about innovation around inclusion and how it is being used in the community.”
“This experience was a good opportunity for reflection on the range of barriers that impact on people with disability in their everyday lives.”
