Lifestart Play for Kids aims to raise awareness in our community about the value and importance of play in all our lives.

Host an event with family, friends, in your workplace or club. You can play a game any time from August to December 2016 to raise funds in support of inclusion for children and young people living with disability. Play for Kids represents a unique teambuilding opportunity to get involved in playing a game to build morale and encourage team spirit while contributing to the learning and development of children and young people living with disability.

Play is an integral part of a child's growth and development and families of children with disability or delay and Play for Kids provides the opportunity for the community to engage and be part of Lifestart's mission to enhance the lives of young children living with disability through play.

Play for Kids enables us to get a strong message out that play is one of the best ways for all children to learn and develop, especially children with disability or delay. Play is the bridge for children to be included in our community.

Lifestart's vision is that Play for Kids events promote the value of play for the whole community.

How to Play for Kids – A Step by Step Guide

  1. Set a date and location.
    Why not gather your family, friends, workmates or club members, transform the office boardroom or take your game outdoors and give everyone the chance to participate in a game just for fun.
  2. Select the game you are going to play.
    It's a great teambuilding activity to build team morale.
  3. Plan your event.
    Send a save the date email, text or written invitation to potential participants and ask them to join in.
  4. Promote your event.
    You can invite game participants by email and make it a calendar invitation that is automatically added to their diaries. It's also worth sharing on Facebook, Twitter or LinkedIn.
  5. Start fundraising.
    Start your own fundraising page to collect donations from participants, their families and friends at
  6. Get ready for game day.
    Get the game you've got planned ready to go, welcome participants, remind them why they're here and have fun.
  7. Thank game participants.
    Once you've finished fundraising remember to thank everyone who participated or donated. If you have a Facebook page, send everyone a message and share your photos.
